Grain elevators are becoming a thing of the past as they are torn down for more modern methods of handling grain shipments.  Here at Heritage Park there is a fully working model. Step back into Calgary's past with the sights and sounds of Heritage Park, which depicts Calgary life pre-1914.  (And that bakery has the most awesome shortbread and sausage rolls!!!) Early light highlights the buildings of Calgary while an ominous sky to the west offers a lovely background. The uniformity of Bankers Hall sets off the reflections of the Calgary Tower. Saucers of light appear to be about to land in a window reflection of a downtown Calgary apartment building. Our interesting blue City Hall reflecting some of our older architecture in with the new. The framework of the nearby Glenbow Museum sets off the stark sharpness of the Calgary Tower. Resembling a rocket ship, the Calgary tower appears to be ready for take-off. A small plane gives passengers a scenic view of the Calgary Tower The Rundle Ruins on 12th Ave SE is the remains of the early General Hospital (1894).  This may be one of the last views of the Calgary Tower from this site as a building boom in Calgary is fast encroaching the neighbourhood of Victoria Park.
