Dodecatheon pulchellum [D. radicatum] - Pulchellum means "beautiful" and the name is certainly appropriate as the varied pink to lilac-purple colours of the flowers are unusually lovely. They can be abundant in moist meadows, the flowers producing waves of colour from June through July, depending on the elevation.
