Intense reds, golds and purples dominate the dramatic sweep of the infamous chinook arches. Chinooks are warm winds that can dramatically increase the temperatures in winter. The straight thick band of cloud usually runs from northwest to southeast and often produces spectacular sunsets & sunrises.
